Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) to conduct 5th and 8th class exams
Examination of 21 lakh eight thousand candidates of 5th and 8th classes
Lahore, Jan 06: Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) has finalized to arrangements to conduct the examination of 21 lakh eight thousand candidates of 5th and 8th classes. With a view to ensuring holding the examination in transparent manner three thousand mobile inspectors have also been appointed to supervise the examination. This was disclosed in a meeting which was held to review the arrangements of the examination by PEC, here today.
The meeting was chaired by Secretary School Education Department Nadeem Ashraf and it was attended by Muhammad Aslam Kumbo, Addl. Director DSD Nasrullah Wirk and Manager Operation PEC. The Secretary told the meeting the main objective of these examinations is to raise the quality education and promotion of uniform examination system in the province. The meeting was informed that remuneration has been paid to the staff amounting to Rs.4.6 crore for the examination 2008.
It was also ensured that this year payment will be made at the earliest. Moreover, Roll No. slips and date sheets have been issued well in time. Aslam Kumbo told that there is no examination fee for PEC examination and result card will be supplied free of cost. Nobody has been authorized to charge result card and examination fee. Section 144 will be remained enforced around the examination centers and unauthorized entry of any person would be banned.
