Iqbal asks Altaf to come back before mediation
ISLAMABAD: PML-N Secretary Information Ahsan Iqbal has said that MQM chief Altaf Hussain should return to the country first if he wants to mediate between PML-N and the government.

Talking to Geo News here on Sunday, he said that one should not talk about mediation while sitting in London.

“If he wants reconciliation, he should talk to President Zardari,” said Ahsan, adding that PML-N was ready for talks if PPP restores the deposed judges.

“We will restore our government in Punjab if we have the power,” he commented.
Altaf Hussain terms civil disobedience call dangerous
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has said that desecration of Benazir Bhutto’s monument in Rawalpindi is regretful.

Addressing a massive gathering here on Sunday, Altaf Hussain said that Benazir Bhutto had rendered her life for the cause of democracy.

He said that Nawaz Sharif’s return to the country had also become possible due to the slain PPP leader.

“It will be dangerous to preach the people for civil disobedience under the pretext of protest,” he added.

MQM chief alleged that PMN-N had deceived the MQM in 1992 by launching an operation against them. He urged Nawaz Sharif to end the politics of confrontation and adopt reconciliatory approach.

“MQM is ready to mediate if Nawaz Sharif is willing,” he offered.
